Janice is finishing her first degree in German Literature at Princeton University. She also holds certificates in Humanistic Studies, Medieval Studies, and Music Performance. She has extensive experience as a researcher in both the US and Germany and has been very active in the areas of student representation, outreach, and community service at Princeton. Janice is multi-lingual with fluent Korean, proficiency in Spanish and German, and a working knowledge of High Middle German, Italian, and Latin. She is also an accomplished chamber musician and violinist with performances and study at Princeton and in Europe.
Janice will be researching the phenomena of modernism and the construction of modernity within German-speaking culture, using the late Medieval, pre-Reformation literary and artistic culture. She hopes to continue to integrate music performance and literary research and expand her interdisciplinary work by including non-Western cultural and literary references from disciplines such as art history, theology, history, and music.
