DPhil English | 2015 Graduate

As an Ertegun scholar, I wrote a DPhil thesis in English, entitled "Unlikely Readers: Negotiating the Book in Colonial South Asia, c. 1857–1914." Since July 2016, I have been a Junior Fellow at the Society of Fellows, Harvard University. At Harvard, I intend to revise my thesis into a book manuscript, and begin thinking about the global life of South Asian literary cultures at the turn of the twentieth century.

During my time at Ertegun House, I co-organised two major conferences and workshops, "Unconventional Archives: Literature and the Uses of History" (Jan 2014), and "The Global History of the Book, 1780 to the present" (Dec 2014). Starting in May 2014, I ran a year-long seminar series, "The Archive and Forms of Knowledge," and an accompanying blog on eccentric object histories ( )
