MSt World Literatures in English

In May 2016, I graduated from Indiana University Bloomington, in the United States, with a BA (with High Distinction) in English and a minor in African American & African Diaspora Studies. Before Indiana, I attended boarding school in Nigeria (six Secondary School years at Olashore International School) and in England (two A-level years at Malvern College).

At Oxford, I intend to acquire a solid foundation for advanced scholarly research—especially a working familiarity with the writings of seminal postcolonial literary critics. I also hope to begin a preliminary study of third generation (1990s onwards) postcolonial Lagos novels within relevant theoretical frameworks of World Literature and Anglophone postcolonial studies.

I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to continue my development as a student of literature, acquire new interests, and make new friends at the Ertegun House. I look forward to listening to the contributions of the outstanding Ertegun scholars, and taking part in the community’s diverse and dynamic intellectual projects.
